About Chawston
The hamlet of Chawston is located mainly on the western side of the A1 trunk road, in the county of Bedfordshire, England. As this hamlet is situated just 8 miles from the town of Bedford and 3 miles from St Neots, it is a perfect location to rendezvous with one of our exceptional Chawston escorts, who will make your evening in Chawston probably the most exciting that you have ever had.
The first record of Chawston was in the Domesday Book of 1086 and the name for the Hamlet at that time was Chaulestorne and Calnestrone.
The manor estate of Chawston dates back to 1186, although the Chawstone Manor House of today dates back to the 17th century and is a Grade II listed building. Robert Hunt who was a former M.P. for Bedfordshire owned Chawston Manor in 1414, he then passed the manor to his son Roger Hunt who was a speaker in the House of Commons in 1421 and 1433.
During the 1930s the unemployed miners from the North East of England and Kent were poverty stricken and a Land Settlement Association Scheme (LSA) provided some smallholdings of five acres in Chawston for these miners. The agreement that was struck up, was that all the produce that they grew on this land was to be sold through the LSA scheme. The LSA scheme continued for a further fifty years but eventually the scheme was abolished and the properties sold on the open market, although some of the existing tenants did purchase their properties . Today when you pass through the area you will discover that many of the cottages have now been extended and renovated.
The majority of Chawston today is residential and the shops and local services for those residents are mainly in the neighbouring village of Wyboston.
There are several very good hotels in the area as well as some excellent restaurants, so there is no shortage of places to take your gorgeous escort for the evening.
