About Hedgerley
Hedgerley is a village and civil parish in the South Bucks district within the County of Buckinghamshire with a postcode of HP2. The parish is 1.5 miles west of Gerrards Cross and 3 miles south-east of Beaconsfield. The parish has incorporated the formerly separate parish of Hedgerley Dean since 1934 which was once a hamlet in the parish of Farnham Royal.
There is a village street in Hedgerley comprising of red brick and timber framed cottages, amongst which Victorian Cottages date from the 16th century. Above the village on the hillside is the Church of England parish church of Saint Mary the Virgin, this was designed by the Gothic Revival architect Benjamin Ferrey and built in 1852. The Tudor Revival Rectory was built in 1846.
The village of Hedgerley has a population of about 900 residents is within the Church Wood. This small reserve forms part of the extensive Chiltern woodlands and is a mixture of beech, ash, oak and hazel coppice.
