Poundon is a very small village in the hamlet and civil parish within the Aylesbury Vale district in Buckinghamshire. Poundon has a small population of just 121 residents and has the postcode of OX27. It is located close to the Oxfordshire border, about four miles north east of Bicester, three miles south west of Steeple Claydon. The village name is Anglo Saxon in origin, though its meaning is uncertain. In manorial rolls of 1255 it was recorded as Paundon.
