About Shabbington
Shabbington is a village and civil parish in the Aylesbury Vale district of Buckinghamshire, it is about three miles west of Thame in the neighbouring county Oxfordshire, and seven miles southwest of Aylesbury. The village was first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, when it was called Sobintone which is Old English for Scobba's Estate. Until relatively recently the village was known as Shobbington, it was only in the Victorian era that the name was changed to its current form.
