An Anglo-Saxon settlement when the Normans invaded in the 11th century, Weston Turville was listed as 'Westone' in the Domesday Book (1086), its proximity to Akeman Street, a major Roman road, would have meant that the Romans were aware of the settlement and a Roman amphora and other relics found in the rectory garden give evidence of their presence. The parish church of St Mary was first built during the 12th century, though little of the original construction remains, you can still see the font and an octagonal shaft in the south wall of the chancel, the chancel arch and 3 eastern bays of the south arcade date from the thirteenth century.
Over the centuries the village was mostly involved in agriculture, though other industries included duck breeding and straw plaiting, Weston Turville was one of the main centres for the breeding of Aylesbury Ducks during the 19th century. Weston Turville has a small bird reserve which was established by Bucks, Beds and Oxford Wildlife Trust. The site has one hide and can be accessed from the main reservoir footpath.
At one time the UK TV presenter and Radio DJ Noel Edmonds had a home in Weston Turville. Currently former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn lives in the village.
