About Galleywood
Galleywood is a village within the County of Essex which is located very close to the town of Chelmsford and approximately 30 miles away from London. With a population of 5,757, Galleywood is a charming place surrounded by countryside, consisting of vast areas of woodland and open fields. The village of Galleywood was historically attested since medieval times, being mentioned as Gauelwode in 1250. The Eagle crossroads was the centre of the village in early Victorian times.
