About Datchworth
Datchworth is a village in the County of Hertfordshire in England.
The village of Datchworh is a prestigious village. It was named the first ever Fairtrade Village in Hertfordshire. Fairtrade is an organization which works with towns and villages, to eliminate poverty and slavery across the globe. Their methods consist of utilizing trade to enable poverty stricken communities, to take financial control of their neighborhoods and local families, in turn allowing them to grow as an established market community. Datchworth is proud to have been awarded this honor before any other village in the county.
The Village of Datchworth strives to make their history known to visitors. As part of their efforts they have created a website dedicated to inform the public of their local news, history, and projects. A complete history of Datchworth was written in 1984 by T.O. Beachcroft and W.B. Emms, and published as Five Hides Village. The book is no longer being printed, but the village has integrated a digital version of the book into their website for public viewing.
The village name derives from the name of a Saxon lord and dates back to 700AD. His name was thought to be Daecca, which is pronounced Datcher; this explains the first portion of the name. But the second half of the name Datchworth derived from the word Wyrthe which in Saxon meant enclosure. All together, the name simply means Datchers enclosure.
Although the village name dates back to 700AD, the village has actually been inhabited far longer than that date. Evidence of two similar sites of Belgic descent have been discovered in the village. Also, a church sitting on top of a moat is the single most conclusive piece of evidence, suggesting Dane influence was a part of the village. With all of the historical evidence found in the village, its only proven record exists in the Domesday Book of 1086, was when the Normans recorded it as being a 600 acre plot of farmland.
The village itself has many interesting venues within its borders, although many of the pubs and hotels are outside of it. It receives many visitors including graciously beautiful escorts. Here they entertain interested men, and accompany them to locations of their choice. The escorts are firm bodied and talented women, whos only desire is to please their date. These women are respectful and represent their men well, while still implementing a bit of fire and sensuality in their nature. Men enjoy the presence of the escorts because they sport full perky breasts, long legs and silky manes. Datchworth escorts, are the perfect dates to have on any occasion, whether it is an outdoor event, or an indoor intimate dinner for two; with desert.
