About Kelshall
Kelshall is considered a relatively small village. It is located in the northeastern portion of the County of Hertfordshire. It lends its name to the civil parish as well, and has a church available in the village which is designated Saint Faiths.
Saint Faiths church is another one of those historical churches hidden away within a small village. The earliest recording of construction being done to the church is noted as being around 1390 until 1420. However, it seems that these were actually rebuilding efforts and not actual the original work. There are no signs of the original work actually being constructed. But there are remnants of authentic works of art; the painted ceiling of the Nave contains original artwork. And there are surviving portrayals of Saint Edmund and Saint Edward the Confessor dating back to 1420. They are depicted in brilliant colors which are original. This is a fete for the Village of Kelshall, as there are no other paintings of its kind to exist in the whole of the English countryside.
