About Little Hadham
In the County of Hertfordshire, in England, there is a small village by the name of Little Hadham. It also doubles as a civil parish, and it is located in the East Hertfordshire district. The village has a population of about 1,081 individuals. It is located approximately forty two miles away from the City of London, from which it receives many of its visitors. A drive here would take a little over an hour as traffic congestion is low. There is also public transport available, and would entail the use of the 700 bus and the 744 bus, this method of travel does not take much longer than driving, only about thirty minutes or so.
The village connects to a larger town; Bishops Stortford, through the A120 road. The village includes four other points of interest within its borders. Hadham Ford, Westland, Green, Green Street, and Bury Green. Of all four, Bury Green is the only one with a historical attraction; three to be exact. This location offers visitors the chance to view three well-preserved medieval farmhouses. Hadham Hall is also a historical attraction. It was built for the Capel Family and constructed using Elizabethan design and architecture. Part of the building was destroyed by fire, buts its original construction can still be seen perfectly. Recently its new owners, the Hertfordshire County Council, have made plenty of additions to the estate and have converted it into a bilateral secondary school
The parish has a church available, and it too, adds a historical value to the village. It was constructed in the 12th century and still maintains its wooden porch perfectly preserved. The chancel screen is over five hundred years old, making it one of the oldest structures in the village.
Little Hadham has a pub which was once the residence of the Folk Rock group Fairport Convention. The group spent a lot of time in the pub meeting the various new faces which walked in nightly, and used their experiences there as inspiration for their most popular album. The album itself shows the respect the group had for the pub, as it is named after it titled, Angel Delight. Musician Nick Drake was another notable individual who visited the town during the making of his first album, of which the Fairport Convention played a part.
